To add some variety to the proceedings I'll be building this;
Instructions and sprues.
Having looked for a colour scheme I've found one I like here;

Re: Tim's '56 T-Bird
Nice choice, I've been on a hunt for a 57 T-Bird to do a tribute to my favorite actor Robert Urich. I'll be watching with great interest

Welcome aboard Tim,
Very nice T-bird, and very nice to see a non-aircraft build.
Welcome aboard!
Cheers

Is this like the car in American Graffiti? The one with the blonde girl at the traffic lights.

Maybe you can find a 24th scale Suzanne Somers

You could spend the whole build looking for her, and just when you get close …

All models are equal. Some models are more equal than others.

Re: Tim's '56 T-Bird
I had to deal with some sink marks on the chassis but after some filling and sanding it was sprayed matt black. This evening I painted the detail on the chassis, after which I fitted the exhausts and rear suspension, complete with wheels.
The spare wheel cover has been painted.
The body has had the mould lines removed and given a couple of coats of primer. Here's a quick mock up.

Re: Tim's '56 T-Bird
Yes it is going together well. I did have to do some fettling to get a good fit on the top part of the engine but after some filling, sanding and paint it was time to add some shiny bits.
The hardtop has been given a couple of coats of white primer.
I had to see how the hardtop looked in place.

Re: Tim's '56 T-Bird
I'm not really a big fan of 50's US cars but I really like this one - great work so far and I really like the engine!
