Re: Fred's Dornier 17E
I got the RLM 63 on in some parts. Today I'll mask up for one of the other colours.
I got the cameras late on Friday, but the Fuji goes back, it has a fault with the flash.

State of play this evening. Some masking and a coat of RLM 62 green on. It'll need a second coat, then masked for the RLM 61 brown.

The kit decals are unuseable, so I'll use spares from the files and print up the black code letters.TobyC wrote:Are you using the decals that came with the kit are getting some others?

Re: Fred's Dornier 17E
Two coats of RLM 61 brown and the masking is off;
I used regular masking tape between the lower blue and upper camo. The edge of the tape was sealed over with a coat of Klear. I used thin strips of FROG paint masking tape for outlining the camouflage pattern. I'm seriously impressed by that tape. I just need to do a very minimum of touching in, where the tape lifted a bit. There is absolutely no bleed under the edges. I'm a cheapskate and didn't like spending £4.25 on a roll of masking tape, but now I'm very glad I did.
I've painted some of the Frog tape and will try to use it for the cockpit glazing bars.
This is very near to being finished. Props, one m/g, wheels and decals will complete it.
