Just in front of the action ;-)

Drat and double drat. Just spotted an injection moulding on the starboard inner of the fuselage. Well it'll have to stay now
I added some extra cockpit detail and found some instrument decals courtesy of a certain Mr Grant so stuck those in. Accuracy? Pah!!

Don't worry about the porthole windows. They were more for letting some light in and not for looking out thru. Quite often they were not very clear.
Add a small square of plasticard to that ejector pin, Paint the plastic mid-brown first. Then it'll do for the fold away dickie seat that was fitted about there.
just some thoughts.
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Fred's suggestion of a dickie seat can be seen. Whether Fred can get on it is open to debate ;-)

Image

Tail on.

Image

Rear turret surrounds cut out and resin insert attached(I hate resin btw)

Image

Image

Cockpit aligned and fine on the port side

Image

However on the starboard side SH have for some reason decided to leave part of it off

Image

When fixed in place gaps can be seen so some plasticard is used to fill them

Image

Although a minor one still exists that can be filed with glue

Btw Montex masks are some of the best I've ever used. Far better than Eduard to apply

I'm beginning to regret choosing this over the A26 I had originally earmarked for this GB. After it's done I'm selling all my Special Hobby kits.

This kit is based on the MK II so a lot less surgery is required. However a crystal ball will come in handy re the instructions

That interior looks good. So this one is a bear to build? Keep up the good work. It's progressing quickly!

I agree that Special Hobby kits can be a bit fiddly at times but they do let us build the subjects that the mainstream hardly touch. Stick with it Toby because the end result is always worth it

It may be a pig of a model but it looks like you're winning. The potholes is a great idea and the cockpit detail is great! Hopefully you should see quite a lot of it through all that glazing

I had to make the same modification to the starboard nose glazing. I don't understand why Special Hobby thought that was a good idea. If I remember rightly the undercarriage is a bit of a fiddle to get together as well.
