Mav's Spitfire Mk.1a with Teeth ***FINISHED***
After seeing the thread "despondman's Tiger Meet Hurricane" I have been tempted into building atleast one of my Spitfire Mk.1a's into Tiger Meet colours.
I'm unsure what squadron they will be or indeed which Air Forces as I have many spare Spitfire decals in the stash but once I know I will post details.
The kit/kits are all new tooled Airfix Mk.1a's.
Il post pics tonight.

Re: A Spitfire Mk.1a with stripes.
Haha sorry Martin! .
Not too exciting but here is a pic of the Spit in primer:
I'm building this along side the KP Mig-19 whilst finishing an Airfix Shorts Sunderland and P-39Q Aerocobra so its taking a while .

Oops! Sounds like you're quite busy then. Still, the Spit's looking neat 'n tidy and ready for paint.Maverick231 wrote: I'm building this along side the KP Mig-19 whilst finishing an Airfix Shorts Sunderland and P-39Q Aerocobra so its taking a while .

Re: A Spitfire Mk.1a with stripes.
Ok so the progress:
Looking at the model I decided that there was a little sanding and scribing to do, I did all the scribing by hand and this is my first attempt.
So here she is after sanding and re-scribing:
Then it was time for primer.
I have decided to use black primer on the top were the orange will be and a lighter primer on the bottom.
So here she is after primer:
Stay tuned for more soon!

Re: A Spitfire Mk.1a with stripes.
More progress this morning.
The orange has been painted, air intakes, gear and other gubbins added.
Heres a pic:
More progress is planned for tonight and tomorrow as I aim to get this finished before the 3rd, please excuse the pic as the orange looks lighter than it is in person.
C&c welcome.

Re: A Spitfire Mk.1a with stripes.
Ok so this is the part of the build I was most worried about......THE STRIPES!
So after an hour of hand painting after a stressfull day at work here is the result:
Please remember that this is the first time I have ever painted a tiger livery.
C&c welcome as always.
