Daz's Spitfire survivor - **FINISHED**

It's the good ol' YCNHTM Spitfire GB - any kit, any scale, any era, and mark, it's just got to be a Spitfire/Seafire ...
Runs 28 February through 29 March and your hosts are Lancfan and Paul Bradley.

Decals so far....

The 'B' is just a standard letter applied, and then hand-painted over the top to the right colour (which in this case was simply blue).

Managed to get the roundels and flashes on before I had to leave for work. Also fitted the prop and the canopy.

Pics later.

Just needs the fuselage serial number applied and the canopy painted.

Thanks.

I DID, however, make a slight error. I will reveal when finished...!

Spot the error? I positioned the under-wing roundels too far inboard, meaning that the serial number overlaps the undercarriage doors instead of being mid-way along the wing. Oops! Still, I suppose it's only obvious if you look at the bottom of the model!

Achtung Schpitfeurgeist!

That is SOOOOOOO neat! Just think of the morale effect there could have been on Luftwaffe bomber crews if our Intelligence services had circulated a false rumour about a ghost Spit that collided with a bomber and now (then) roams the skies, then had a Mk1 painted like that!

Thanks, PT.

It was a fun paint job - not quite the nightmare that my all-yellow Spitfire T.8 was.

This Spit is still around - albeit currently painted in the exact same paint scheme as my other Mk.XVI!
