CANT Z501 Italeri 1/72

Post by vacant »

There were many occasions while building this model that the word 'can't' came to mind. There were times when I said 'I can't make sense of the instructions'. There were also several occasions while assembling the struts and other supports when I said 'I can't do this'. There were even occasions when I said 'I can't find any reference to this part in the instructions'. But it seemed to get there in the end.

The kit came with three colour options, two Italian and one Spanish. So opted to paint it in Romanian. Having had such bother building it, I thought I would have some fun painting it. I used spare decals for the fuselage but I had to print the wing ones myself as I did not have anything big enough.

You may notice that the model is different in the first photo - the nose gun position is opened and there is no spinner. That is the final configuration of the model. The kit comes with a beaching dolly and support for the tail. I may eventually set it in a 'sea'.

Great looking model vacant. It clearly put you through the mill but the result is definitely worth the effort.

Looks great. The paint job came out well and reminds me of my own personal hell recently with something similar..... http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=293&t=10844&start=15;

I feel your pain.

Mindblowing. The camo itself is a "Can't" for me.

Apologies for the delay in this reply - I have been away for over a week and am catching up. That is a very impressive build with a superb camouflage scheme. Those old Italaeri kits are very good especially as they represent types that other manufacturers do not offer. Yours is particularly impressive and well worth the effort.
