Re: In with a Zlin
Masking up for the blue paint on wingtip and underside.
I haven't completed it yet owing to some IT support work I was called in to do on The Teenagers laptop
Still, it shouldn't be much more work to finish the masking.

My IT support skills involve a hammer
On the IT of course not the operator before anyone reports me!

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

A first coat of blue on the Zlin.
I'll put another coat of paint on later.
I'm using Vallejo Air Steel Blue (Acero Azul) which looks to be a fair match to the dark blue stripes on the decals.

After unmasking, there were a few issues with the demarcation lines, but a fine brush and a steady (!) hand:

Re: In with a Zlin
Thanks! I needed nerves of steel to do the decals. They are very thin and prone to tearing and rolling up.coptermech wrote:Nice work!!
The best way to handle them has been to keep a lot of backing paper on, and slide the backing paper out from under the decal.
I have a basic set of decals on. The long stripes on the fuselage will be very difficult, so I have left them for now!

Now that is some excellent modelling. To think a week ago it was just another plastic ruler

Those decals were not fun to put on.
There are a few more tiny decals to put on, but it's mostly over.
