Lancfan's ETPS Hawk ***Finished***

In honor of all those ol' training aircraft - the home of many a foundering fledgling oblivious that while the IP was attempting to show a calm, reassuring demeanor, his hands, tightly clutched onto some aircraft part, were slowly tearing it to pieces .... Many of us have been there .... The GB runs 1 to 29 Nov, and your host is Old_Tonto.

Lancfan's ETPS Hawk ***Finished***

For this GB I will build this 1/72 Airfix Hawk using ETPS markings from Modeldecal sheet 80. Work will begin next week and progress will be posted when possible.

The build has continued steadily and this is the story so far- the cockpit was the first section to be built up and took the most time, as the canopy will be closed on this model most of the details are painted additions.
Image

The cockpit was next glued to one half of the fuselage and the nose weight was added in the most unobtrusive places.
Image

The fuselage was then glued together and left to dry, this is the stage it had reached on Friday night.
Image

The weekend saw the wings and air intakes fitted and painting began, the final shot in this post shows the model as it now stands ready for decals.

The canopy and decals were fitted next and the model was then varnished ready for final assembly.

The final parts were fitted to complete the model as Bae Hawk T.mk1 XX343 of the Empire Test Pilots School, 1985.

Lovely job. That Raspberry Ripple scheme looks good on anything but really suits that Hawk.
