Re: Vor der kaserne
is it a WW1 bar scene?
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Blimey PT, you're knocking them out quickly!
This has the makings of another corker!

Re: Vor der kaserne
This subject is just too damn addictive! This particular build was inspired by a song that I was going to suggest to Molly-new for his North Africa build, this has now directly led to me thinking of another one based on a movie...and one more abstractly inspired, based on the American Civil War! .....and now I'm thinking that this one could be a 'Double A-side' if I can come up with a cunning plan to do it

OK, I've figured out how I'll do the 'Double A- side' dio (based on a story from a desert war documentary ) trouble is, I'll need to order another set of figures to complete it , meanwhile I'll continue scratchbuilding a 1939 Odeon portable gramophone.

Re: Vor der kaserne
A backpack from a 54mm French Rifleman becomes the bottom of the gramophone, and a bit of sprue tab edged with plasticard becomes the lid.
...and further progress with a plasticard carry handle, a stylus arm with what looks like a speaker(?) made from 54mm 1776 Grenadier bayonet and cockade from Frenchys hat. .....I also made THREE winder handles, but the Carpet Monster has feasted well today!
The angle distorted photo is of an actual 1939 Odeon gramophone)
