That Magach continues to develop into a superb build, Paul, featuring some seriously great quality detail work and I could have easily taken it for 1/35th -in fact I'd be well chuffed if I detailed a 1/35th example that nicely so to have done so in 1/72nd is something else.

I put some paint on the Magach. It was nice to unify the various media with the paint but I forgot I wanted to add the bag thing on the the accordion structure of the main gun. I used Apoxie Sculpt to form the bag.


When I looked at photos of the Magach I noticed that there seemed to be an under layer of green which I suspect may be from the original American colour of the tank (Just a guess). A sandy colour would be applied over this and may show through. This turned out to be a waste of time for me though as I obliterated the green with many coats of the sandy colour!


I painted a mix of Tamiya Buff, Medium Grey and a smidge of white over the initial coat of green.


Well, I guess no build can go completely smoothly. Painting was pretty much complete and I was putting on the decals when I dropped the turret!. It was only about an inch, but it was enough. A bit of wire, some CA and the main gun was back on. It has a little crook in it now like an old boxer's nose but what can you do.


Decals and a bit of an oil filter. I also tried my hand at the stowage. This is my third attempt. I actually stripped the paint off the resin stowage twice before I was happy with it. I used Mr. Hobby Mr. Tool Cleaner and stripped the paint off by applying it very carefully with a brush. It strips off the paint without damaging the resin. I just had to be very careful to avoid getting any on the painted tank as it would easily strip this off too. It worked out in the end.






I still have to work a couple more decals and the remaining stowage but i am happy with how its going.

Thanks again guys for the kind comments. This has been a fun build and the kit has a lot of potential. I am really enjoying these armor builds. This kit sat on the shelf for a while but I am glad I picked it back up. Anyway, I am done with it for the moment. I have added the stowage and most fiddly bits. I am actually happy with the way the stowage turned out. I was out of my comfort zone but I guess it makes us grow and get better. I only have the antenna and some weathering to go. Before I weather it, I am going to build the diorama base so the weathering can match its surroundings. Not sure what it will be yet. Here are some (sort of) final pics.















Might be a bit before I can get to the base. I am being booted out of my current hobby room and will be moving my stuff to the utility room. It should be good though as the utility room has a nice window that I can look out of without staring into my neighbor's bedroom.
