Martin's Seafire Ib *finished* & PRs IV & XI *finished*

Honoring Edgar Brooks, a Spitfire researcher and contributor to many modelling forums, we have the Every Mark of Spitfire GB -- in which at least one of each will be built, not in a free-for-all, but to a "plan".
The GB runs from 27 Feb 2016 to 10 April and your host are Martin R and Sir T.

OK, I'll say she's the wartime variant.

If you're interested in her history (as well as a potted history of the Spitfire as a recce aircraft in general), I can recommend the book Spitfire In Blue by Hugh Smallwood. Good read.

Re the Seafire, the lower profile is the one I'm doing.

You can see that the paintwork is a bit beaten up, so I'm assuming it's well weathered. However, probably not this weathered, which was what awaited me once I'd managed to get most of the salt off.

The pic in my earlier post is how it looked after some hasty remedial action. More still required.

Happy Easter

After some more remedial action, I'm happier:

Good recovery. Yet to grow a pair big enough to tackle the salt method ;-)

Kit,

If I had any maskol, I wouldn't have tried. It was difficult to control where the salt went and how much went on. Perhaps more suitable for 1/48th and airbrushing.

Great stuff. I reckon you've nailed PL965's look. I'm still not brave enough to try much weathering!!

Great work and very brave of you to tackle using the salt technique!
Best wishes

Thanks, Iggie.

Despite a couple of hours at the workbench last night, nothing substantive to report. I feel like both of these kits are fighting me at the moment: 3 steps forward, 2 steps back. Still, onwards and upwards.
