I must admit I was confused about the scale of this model, as I baught the kit bagged with no instructions or decals I'm flying blind.

Scalemates indicate it's 1:500 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/162103- ... ms-torquay

I will get my trusty steal rule out and see what scale it works out as.

A quick measure shows she is 8.85 inches long as the original was 370 feet the scale works out close to 1:500 so all is well.

I wonder if Peter just made a mistake on quoting the scale? He does state that the PE is designed for the Frog kit,so it should fit.

Frog did a bunch of kits at box scale, then standardised at 1/500 with their later kits, so Peter is correct.

I have found this excellent set of walk around photos, when she was looking very tidy, unlike the ones I found not long before she was sent for scrap. Here is the link

Today I filled the hull with resin plaster to give it a bit of weight, I did the same when I started to build my HMS Southampton conversation and found the extra weight made handling the hull a lot easier whilst under construction.

Not much done today I have just added some small scratched parts to the 4.5 turret to make it look more fussy

The quality of the Novo kits are showing their age look at what is supposed to be the bridge

I'm not happy with the bridge so I might do one of two things remove the uprights and replace them with plastic strips or remove them and replace the gap with clear plastic and paint in the uprights, this needs some thought and a check on what suitable clear plastic I have.

I tried to make the bridge window frames using strips of plastic but it did not look right, the type 12 frigates had a strange looking bridge all the windows are staggered and miss aligned, so I have filled the whole area in and will try to paint them on or try playing with black decals.

IN this scale, I think decals would work just fine.
