Ain’t it? Probably a field improvisation at a kind of ‘snake’ camouflage. Here’s the state of play so far. Future wax drying on the Mustang so I can add a few roundels, and still futzing with the handpainted stars on the Corsair’s rudder before it too gets a coat of Future.

Aha! I spy something familiar! Are you going to sand down the industrial strength ribbing on the wings at all? I'm about to build the Hannover and you can bet those wings are going to be copping some grit.
Looking forward to seeing what scheme you give it.

Heheh, I didn’t want you to think that I was riding your coattails with an Albatros, and of course the blister pack artwork makes it appear even more so. To be honest I am not terribly sure what scheme it will wear. If the maltakreuzen hold out and work then it may wear that cover scheme. If not I have a less colorful but no less interesting backup plan. I shall probably follow your advice regarding the wings though to my untrained eyes they don’t look that bad. Not going to go too hard on detail as I find with simple kits the paint job is more important. In any event I am just stoked to be building a Great War aircraft for the first time in ages.

Good to see that somebody else is building a real aeroplane.... I have fond memories of this kit, having built two or three in my teenage years. More recently I took a trip down memory lane to build a zebra-striped scheme of Lt R Windisch - https://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=19& ... R+Windisch

There is much potential with this kit, even if you have to accept some dimensional errors - it builds into an attractive model.

Ha ha ha, real aeroplane! anyways......yeah like I said I am not going too AMS on it, and now I realise I have way too many partly started or stalled kits laying around. Time will see what I actually do end up doing.

They’re not Argentine but thanks nevertheless. Here’s where I am at with the Albatros. As Mr. Vandal said, crude and that is an understatement. I do have the Roden D.Va floatplane fighter in the deep stash but am in no hurry or humour to excavate it. As I said earlier I am not going too deep on this, and am hoping against hope that the maltakreuzen don’t let me down otherwise I get stuck with a model in absolutely wrong paint for my backup plan. And you all know what that means…….paging Dr. Easyoff, paging Dr. Easyoff……

Well, the paintwork on the Albatros didn’t go so well, so at least I don’t have to go through the potential heartbreak of watching 300 year old decals do a plotz either. Another pain in the pahtookus removing the disaster with EasyOff and while this time I didn’t get gassed while spraying it outside, I got a strong whiff of it while scraping and brushing the muck off the fuselage and lower wing. I’m never gonna learn….. So my cunning plan #2 has been set in motion. Dogfight Duo the Prequel is on.

Just skimmed through your workbench. You have a massive collection of warbirds. I was particularly drawn towards the B-19 and the Vought Corsair. A lot of gems in your plastic treasure.
