None at all John I'm afraid to say; work has been manic since the end of June and I've also been ripping out and replacing bathrooms at home......I've not sat at the bench for weeks it seems!
However, there is light at the end of the tunnel and I'm hopeful of getting some bench time in the not too distant future.
Fingers crossed!
Best wishes

And we're back! A couple of hours at the bench last evening; the first in about three weeks I think, and it was nice to get back in the saddle

So, a little more work on the cockpits; instrument panels painted, a little wood grain added, decals for instruments added, and a trial fit of the whole thing. Also applied a gloss coat internally and then some Flory 'grime' wash to tone things down a bit. Oh, and some tape seat-belts c/w buckle holes
The fuselage is now buttoned up, so onto the extremities for a while :-D

Praise be to Revell for saving some of these Matchbox classics and it's good to see this one getting an outing. Excellent work so far with the engine and cockpits - how did you do the wood effect? looks very convincing to me.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Cheers Shaun; the 'wood' is Revell acrylic light wood base with some streaks of Humbrol dark earth on top, immediately softened with a damp brush. Then a thick coat of acrylic gloss varnish over all.

Progress from yesterday:
Engine and bulkhead installed, along with the front shroud and undertray. Oily wash applied to dirty it up a bit

Tail plane assembled; had to scratch the rudder horns as the kit part has gone on holiday and won't be back for ages...

Wow, loving that engine bay Iggie and I've noted the wood effect tip. This is progressing very nicely.

Cheers John & Shaun!

Latest progress:
Pretty much fully assembled now, and two coats of trainer yellow brushed on the undersides. I have also now done a first coat of dark earth on the topsides but didn't photograph that as it's very patchy!
More after the weekend I hope!

Yellow shade looks good. Is it Humbrol?

Cheers Chaps!

Topside camouflage now added; Humbrol dark earth (which feels full of grit; no wonder it doesn't airbrush well  ) and AK interactive Dark Green brush applied.

That's come on leaps and bounds. Shame the engine is covered up. It looked superb.

Looking very good. It's scrubbing up ok for a kit of its vintage.

My advice to you is chuck away all of your Humbrol paints and bury any Humbrol acrylics you may have in a deep hole.

Everything they make (with the possible exception of the enamels and that depends on where and when they were made) is utter rubbish IMHO. They trade on the name they had back in the day when they actually made decent paint and the world used enamels.

The modelling world is full of paint manufactures most of who make a far better product IMHO.
