Thanks Jeff. I'm still a bit hit & miss with the airbrush. I think the quality of the finish is down to mixing the paint. 'Milk like consistency' is what all the guides say. Is that full fat or soya?

Anyway, progress in the way of camo. First coat of RAF Earth Brown.

A little touching up required but I'm pretty pleased with that.

Thanks guys. I thought I was the only one up. It's all quiet in the OT homestead, you can here a mouse fart!

Underside painted. I went with the PRU blue as I have plenty.

Decals are pretty much done at 10 past 3. (sorry forgot the clock :frown: ). Getting tired.

You were not wrong about the rudder decals Fred.

They are massive. :frown:
I have soaked them in MicroSol and will trim with a blade once dry.

Next update should be the last. Am flagging now.

Glad to hear it gents. Calling this one done now.

Image

Overall a very straight forward kit to build. I did take a few short cuts in the interest of a Blitzbau build but anyone should be capable of finishing this Spitfire off without any problems at all. I will post some better images tomorrow in daylight.

Thanks for sticking with me Jeff & Fred.

Thanks guys. This was an enjoyable build.

If I'd been doing a normal build I would have replaced the kit seat and added some cockpit detail & IP.
Also as MA574 is an early Mk.IXc I'd remove the later model wheel bulges. Other than that it looks like a Spitfire and you can pick these up for £3 at Home Bargains. Can't go wrong for that money. I might even have a go at converting one to a later Mk. IXe.
