As some will have read or heard, Bernie Ecclestone has sold the F1 bandwagon to an American media corporation; this can only mean one thing, and that's viewing figures above all else.....
In a bid to enliven what has (by some anyway) become a procession, and a bit of a yawn fest, the new owners have decided to do away with the usual prerequisites of motor racing, i.e wheels and cars and tarmac circuits, and instead combine the visual spectacle of F1 with air-racing. Gone are the technical rules of years gone by; anything goes!
There are however one restriction: aircraft must be presented in the style team colours currently to be seen pounding the tarmac in various European, Asian and South American cities during the years.......
Some of you will know that I am a fan of the fabulous artwork produced by Claveworks Graphics, including the Fantasy F1 series. I have already produced a couple of examples inspired by these creations, and frankly, a WHIF GB was all the excuse I needed to have a crack at one (or two perhaps
