Re: Mav's SMW 2018 Build
Tha k you both I sure hope so too!
I'm relieved I'm not the only one having trouble Daz!
Hope you find the time mate.
I got a little time to work on the Foxbat U tonight.
One of the things that stopped me in the past was the rear instrument panel was missing, tonight I just got stuck in and made a very simple replacement using a coffee stirrer and paint pens!
That went in as well as the rest of the cockpit contents.
I also finished off the filling and sanding as well as adding the nose weight(nose cone full of fishing led and locktight gel), assembled the main wheels and gluing, filling and sanding the nose.
I also added the 2 cockpit plates onto the top of the fuselage.
The whole time I was building this I couldn't help but look at the box of the Hobbycraft Forger I got out the stash this afternoon......
Anyway thanks for looking folks hope you like what I've achieved!

Re: Mav's SMW 2018 Build
I really struggled getting the gear legs on tonight.
By the looks of photos and the instructions there meant to be dead vertical but because of we're the guide holes are located the main legs sit slightly outwards, on one side one of the key guide holes is a fraction of the size of what it should be so I glued it to the gear bay wall as best I could!

Looking good, Adam. I've been having a scan of Google Images for the aircraft and I think the main gear oleos should have a bit of an outward lean on them so maybe Condor have got it right. It's quite hard to tell mind and depends on the angle of the photo.

Man that's a good looking jet, it looks like something out of a sci-fi film or series - I can picture that taking off from the deck of Cloudbase in Captain Scarlet!

I agree mate it really does.
Apparently all Russian Aircraft just look the same if your not into them so I've been told but I strongly disagree!

Oh man, that looks good. All those who think Soviet aircraft look the same have no sense of beauty!

That's looking good mate, looking forward to seeing it on the table. Where did you get the ProDriver primer?

Re: Mav's SMW 2018 Build
Lovely smooth looking finish out of that Halfords rattle can, Adam. The joys of masking and spraying eh? It often takes me two or three hours to mask tricky areas and then five minutes to apply the paint! This is really coming together very nicely

Re: Mav's SMW 2018 Build
Thanks again Shaun!
Tell me about it!
I find the more masking I do the more shortcuts I try and take then when it goes wrong I end up taking hours again!
I've just fixed a bit of over spray on the right tail fin.
It was basically silver so I cut a hole in some kitchen roll, stuck it to the surrounding Base of the tail and went with another layer of Halfords Ford Polar Gray and it's all sorted.
Next I will be masking up the tails and lower fuselage fins to start the darker gray areas.
