A real ugly sister

The Il-40 - what were they thinking, Jim?
Anyway, certainly eye-catching!
Nicely done,

Ha! I love it. This would give 1930s French bombers a run for their money. I'm a big fan of funky looking aircraft, and this one is a joy to behold.

It has to be said that the Il-40 is certainly an ugly duckling!
Next on then bench is the old Airfix Hercules, in the guise of an AC-130H Spectre Gunship. Assembly is fairly straightforward, and the level of detail typical of it's age. The fit on the whole is reasonable but there is a fair bit of flash to contend with.
This is where I'm at so far:

Better luck with your C130 than Stuart had with his.
Re: iggie's modelling table
Great finish to the F-4. I like the look of the dropped front slats. I hear you on the stencils. I think a lot of the time they make the aircraft look too spotty. Especially in 1/72 scale.

All these huge aircraft! Sooner or later I'll have to bite the bullet and do a biggie myself.

The big Hercules is finished
A fun build, although manoeuvring it for painting and decals without knocking things off the surrounding shelves was tricky!
Next up:
This is going to be part of a diorama...
