No pics today just a quick update.

Glad you like it Daz. It was just a bit of dry-brushing over the details really. I was a bit disappointed with the Tamiya finish, it was a bit grainy and caused blockages on my airbrush. A quick google search revealed that I wasn't alone suffering this. Always good to know its not just you.
So I followed some advice on Britmodeller and mixed the paint and thinner 50:50 and cranked up the PSI to 20. Voila, a nice smooth finish was achieved.

Now I am masking off some panels and control surfaces to paint a differing metallic colour just to add a bit of contrast.
Once that is done I will paint the anti-dazzle panel green then it's just a coat of klear before decalling. 8-)

Maybe some pics tomorrow.

No pics just a quick update. I have applied some flat aluminium to the control surfaces and the odd panel just to break up the sheen.
She is now up on her U\C and awaiting the green anti-dazzle panel that pretty much runs the length of the airframe. I plan to mask that off & paint it tonight.
After that it's on to the decals and weathering. Now that I finished my entry for the cargo haulers GB I can press on with this.

I might just make it by the deadline. :???:

Should make it Marek although my airbrush packed up this week so the anti-glare panel has been painted by hand.
This is where I was up to last night.

I am just about to start applying the decals. Wish me luck.

Annoyingly the large decals are super, no problem at all.

But the 'I.I. AIR FORCE' decals just desolved as soon as they hit water!

So I'm going to have to make my own. More delays. :???:

Nearly there, home made decals applied and that's just about enough stencils for me.

Just the canopy and U\C doors to attach and I will call it done.
I was planning on giving her a dark wash to bring out all those panel lines but I'm not so sure now.
Might sleep on it.

Really nice kit to build. I think I will give it a wash some time.

Thanks guys I really enjoyed this GB, learned lots about the F-84 family and Tamiya metallic paints.
First rate kit too. I'm still undecided about a panel line was though. :???:

That's a very smart build indeed, and such an attractive scheme for the aircraft too
