This is the old Matchbox P47 'razor-back'. The kit is fairly basic so I tweaked it a bit with a few additional bits but used one of the two colour schemes provided.

You've really achieved a great finish on this old kit.
It really puts me in the mood to trawl EvilBay for some MB kits!

Considering the age of the kit you have done a marvellous job on this.

Looks great! Did you open up the cowling flaps?

Nice one, I have one in the pile but have got some AM decals for it.

Yes, I opened up the cowling flaps, but I did it by sanding down what was there then making each flap from 5 thou. plastic card. It's a weak part of the model as they are a bit too wide (front to back) when compared to photos. The other things I did to the model were to add; tail wheel doors, wheel well structure, replaced the single piece main undercarriage doors with two part doors, actuator to the inner doors, cockpit detail (better seat, side panels, main instrument panel etc.), small tab on starboard aileron, belly tank, drooped the flaps (though badly as they don't look right compared to photos), rear view mirror on canopy, sanded down raised lines on the fuselage and scribed new ones (wing panel lines were already indented)., drilled out exhaust holes.

The best reference for this kit is the build by Carmel J. Attard in Modellingmadness at http://modelingmadness.com/review/allie ... tard47.htm;
