Yeah, I spent two days focusing on my "theme" and am now not sure it'll be what I want, but every time I rethink it, something "vital" falls out. I may drop the "theme" and just try for a broad wash across the 20s-30s.

That takes a Buccaneer out of the equation
Maybe a Vulcan?
Or maybe something a little bit out of my comfort zone?

Try an old Airfix HP 0/400, Daz, if you want something that is decidedly uncomfortable to build - plenty of struts and rigging to keep you amused for hoursDazzled wrote:Good.Kitaholic wrote:Can I join in, looks like a good excuse to get one of my Buccaneers out

Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

That could work - The cockpit had no heating so you could say the aircrew in those things were fighting a 'cold war'ShaunW wrote:Try an old Airfix HP 0/400, Daz, if you want something that is decidedly uncomfortable to build - plenty of struts and rigging to keep you amused for hoursDazzled wrote:Good.Kitaholic wrote:Can I join in, looks like a good excuse to get one of my Buccaneers out

Actually, I already have a part built 0/400 so that's unfortunately out of contention. Naturally I have quite a bit of Cold War stuff . I have been considering the Airfix Vulcan as a Blue Steel carrier in a/f white with 617 sqn markings. I have the kit plus a Wolfpack resin upgrade set.
I also have an Eduard 1/48th Brisfit with late/post WW1 RAF markings.......

You may want to consider holding on to the 617 Squadron Vulcan for the upcoming 617 Anniversary GB?

I'm leaning toward a couple of part started (in a very small way) Tornado GR.1 I have in the stash - I just need to check if I can get them past the GBL....
...Wait a minute, I AM the GBL - right they're in

That's a good point David. To be honest, the 617 GB hadn't really entered my radar and if I'm fair it might be a bit of an ask to build the Vulcan, rescribed and with all the surgery to fit the resin upgrade in 5 weeks. Particularly as my birthday is in the middle of it and I'll be in the South of France for a while.dwomby wrote:You may want to consider holding on to the 617 Squadron Vulcan for the upcoming 617 Anniversary GB?

I was just looking at the Revell/matchbox Victor in-line last night. I mentioned to the chief that I’d like to get it someday, she says order it! Can I just say I’m still recovering from the shock!
I really wish I had shown her the Airfix new tool. I doubt she would have be so enthusiastic.

See if you can get the Airfix new-tool and pass it off as the Revell/Matchbox versiondollar19 wrote:I was just looking at the Revell/matchbox Victor in-line last night. I mentioned to the chief that I’d like to get it someday, she says order it! Can I just say I’m still recovering from the shock!
Best wishes
