I was pretty stunned that I managed to recover that and especially that I retained the double rigging under the right tension.

It took all the patience I had.....

Ready for decaling.

Image

I still have to print the tail decal for the Barker Camel. How I will do so is not certain since the printer is on the fritz...

Another near disaster - I managed to knock the undercarriage off the Barker camel. Gah! Ithink pulled the double rigging loose too. I was able to repair it but it's slightly skewiff now. Not happy....

that's a shame....this seems to be a recurring theme for you!

It is a bit. I'll soldier on regardless.

Printing a decal for the cupid heart on the final of the Barker camel was a failure as the red was invisible against the black of the tail. Instead I have cut two 4mm wide heart stencils and painted it instead. I don't want to talk about the experience.....

The original tail is preserved in a museum for reference. I will need to paint on the arrow in white, probably using a pin.

Things are at the supremely fiddly stage - adding control wires and final tidying up. No photos just now since they barely look any different to the last shots. I'll be away for a day and then I'll aim to get em done Tuesday if I can.

Well, Tuesday came and went and I'm still mired in fiddly attachment of control wires. I also still need to attach the Lewis guns and wingtip lights to the Comic. This is bound to go through to the end of the week. Such a marathon to get the last details done!

Only small tasks to finish it off, but each takes time to set before moving on to the next. This is where I lose a bit of patience and tend to rush it :-|

Same! I'm resisting those urges on this one though.

They've both sprouted butt-whiskers....
