Which is worse!? :lol:
They could of course be the same thing.

Photobucket no longer linking photos?

I know it's been a while since I've been on the site, but I just checked out my workbench and PB is no longer linking photos. I checked PB and my account hasn't exceeded the size limit, but if I'm reading their new terms correctly, the free accounts no longer allow linking of images.

Now, I've got 5+ years worth of work on there that I can't access without paying at least $60.

Did I miss something, or is this happening to others?

True.......very true.

But the magnitude of the subscription fee is eye-watering, especially when compared to other similar (and better performing) cloud storage facilities! :shock:

Indeedy get yourself down to General Discussion and vent your anger towards the Evil Corporate Beast, Mig!

It might be worth locking this, Admin Team, otherwise we will be jumping up and down in our anger at PB in two parts of the forum rather than just the one!

Actually a well-known "see how we are listening to the customer" ploy, planned from the start. Airline announces they are (further) reducing seat sizes from 32in to 30in, great customer furor, airline says "we hear you, we'll only reduce from 32in to 31in" -- and everyone feels happy, power to the sheeple and all that.

Just opened a new account with Postimage.

Seems easy to use, its free, its quick and unlike Photobucket - NO ADVERTS.

You are also able to resize the whole batch of photos prior to uploading.

Just checked the first few pages of my workbench, and so far, my pics are still showing. I haven't used PB in a while though, don't know if that has any bearing on it?

I think it has.
I'd not used PB for about two weeks and seemed fine then;
I had posted pictures to forums and was hit within 5 minutes of posting them. Looks like I woke the sleeping monster.
PB seem to be going thru the accounts

There is a work around chaps - courtesy of John Irwing's post on Revellations;
add "~original" (but not the quotes) after .jpg and before [/img etc.

This is one of my PB hosted pictures from last year - if you can see it then PB haven't sussed the workaround yet.

An interesting dodge around the issue, Al and I can see your P-38 and Zero photo clearly. However, I can't help feeling that it is probably only a matter of time before PB does notice something like this being implemented by users and closes off the loophole. If modellers have spent ages going through their pics to make the necessary alterations to enable the pics to be seen, they will be back to square one and with a lot of time spent that they won't get back!

I use Facebook instead of Photobucket. I find it much less hassle - especially since I apparently can't retrieve some of my older photos, despite the fact that I've asked repeatedly for a new password for the account!

I used mine week or so ago so an were are there as of now. Not sure why they've not imposed the restriction in on go, maybe it's server by server, I'm on s156 which as far as PB has been concerned has always been pretty reliable.

I'm investigating using my webspace associated with my work account as I can keep the folder structure and file naming I've created and just change the domainname.

That doesn't work for my existing images, did you edit your images within PB and the suffix suggests a pre-edited version?
