Hey all!
I was wondering what real aircraft bits and bobs people on here own?
I know Greg owns quite a bit and would love to know exactly what everyone has in their "collection/Inventory"

I only have 2 as of today and they are:

When I turned 21 my Late Nan bought me the Navigator's seat from a Nimrod MR.2.
(One on the right in the pic).

Fast forward 5 years because of a life threatening incident at work my Mrs bought me the nose cone cover from a Harrier GR.7.

Does anyone have a pic of one of these on a harrier?
Ok so lets see what everyone else has!

I used to have an unidentifiable piece of a Wellington bomber that crashed on Tripsdale Moor, North Yorks, in 1943. I picked it up on an ATC hike in 1978 (I wouldn't think of taking something like that nowadays, although I could point out that all the crew bailed out before the crash so no ghoulishness was involved). Last seen in my box room, can't lay hands on it now.

Sorry for the blurred pic, battery is very low on my cam, was happy enuff that I could still make the shot before shutdown due to lack of electric energy :???:

When 43 and 111 Sqns retired their Phantoms, the stripped fuselages were piled up at the edge of a scrapyard in Glasgow, down by the Clyde. I fancied doing a painting or model of an individual Phantom with its details noted within a mounted bezel from the actual aircraft. I phoned the scrapyard but McD Douglas had insisted that no parts be resold. Undeterred I went down one Sunday afternoon armed with a large magnet and very long ball of string. unfortunately there were 2 guys loitering about and no matter how many times I wandered away trying to look casual, they would appear again! Eventually after about an hour I figured that they too were showing a lot of interest in the Phantoms and when I asked outright, they confirmed that they too were after a souvenir, being armed with fishing rods!
I can't remember what they got, but I got a spring from the nose gear.

My dad has a section of the main wing spar from the BBMF Lancaster which they sold off when they replaced it some years back. Some people have said they could have given you any old bit of metal but it still means something to us as it is from a Lanc, or the BBMF at least!.

I don't blame you Mark, anything off an ex Mil aircraft is worth something to me.

@ iggie:
You´re right, it´s a static probe!
The guy I got it from, who got it from a friend, told me, it´s from a MiG-21.
Well, I don´t have any close-up pics from these thingies, but I think he was right.

I think you'll find that's the Flight Engineer's seat in that photo' with the Second Pilot's seat to the left.

There are probably so many jokes about on-going maintenance but I'll be respectful and not start with any of them! :ha: :ha:
