Hi all,
I'm currently doing a what if for the BAC Strikemaster in service with the Indian Air Force and I'm doing a camoflague pattern similar to the Oman variants of the Strikemaster (light beige and brown) with added green. To finish it I want to make it look as though it has been out in the open for a while and has accumulated sand/dust as a result. Has anyone got any ideas as to how I might be able to achieve this? Thanks

Are you airbrushing or hand painting?

I would lighten the base camoflauge colours with white/light tan or pale gray depending on the tones you want. Then lighten them further and apply thin coats to the top of the fuselage and wings surfaces.

Test/experiment on some scrap card or old model when trying out a new technique.

Better to fettle than to fill
