This afternoon I assembled the two fuselage halves and slapped on the filler.

The engines have also been attached, filled and sanded.

The side guns have to be fitted before you assemble the fuselage and you just glue them into holes in the windows. It will be a miracle if I manage to finish this without breaking them!

Thanks guys,

The wings are on! Today I filled the gaps around the wings which included adding a piece of styrene sheet on the underside as the 2 wing halves created a bit of a step.

After a couple of sessions of filling, sanding and checking with primer I think I’ve got it looking ok.

This build will be interesting. If I were to brush paint the model I know I could cover a lot of surface issues with a thick coat of primer/paint but with the airbrush finish any issues might be harder to hide. So, I’ll try to keep things tidy and we’ll see how it looks after an all over primer coat.

That's looking a heck of a lot better than it's age would suggest it should! Good work Stu 👍

That is an old kit..... and your efforts are making a huge improvement. FYI the fronts of the exhausts did have holes in them - the pipes were dampers over the exhaust outlets.

The canopy and lower gunner position have been masked and attached. The wing light cover is just awful and I broke it when trying to squeeze it in. I’ve tried to tidy it up a bit and I’ll see how it looks after a couple of coats of klear.

Looks good. Maybe a thick layer of primer applied by brush and then airbrush the top coat?
