I built one of these a few years back. I found it fairly easy to beat into submission.

Good idea putting the nut and bolts inside the engine nacelles.

That is a good idea. When I built the old Airfix Liberator I planted I don't know how much lead behind the engines for the same reason. The Moskito is coming along rather well, by the way. I may just dig mine out some day, soonish.

The first task was to scratch an realistic cockpit, I started by filling the nose with car filler (Bondo ?) when this had dried to the rubbery stage I cut away those areas which would not be required. When it was fully cured I dry fitted this, the new cockpit floor into the nose, the holes for the nose leg were drilled through and the wheelbay was then milled out. A cockpit floor was then cyanoe'd to the interior section of the cockpit floor and trimmed to fit the fuselage, this was then fitted out to more correctly represent the full size cockpit, When painted it looked the part.


The new cockpit was then cyanoe'd to the port side fuselage half and another stick of nuts and bolts were cyanoe'd behind the cockpit on the CG, also the inner walls aft of the cockpit were thinned down with the hobby drill.


The fuselage was then glued together, the wing was rescribed to sharpen the surface detail and was glued to the fuselage,the gaps were then filled using thick Revell Aqua acrylic, the tailplane was then glued in place.

The story so far, The rather poor canopy has been polished to try to clarify it, the rear extension to the canopy has been made from a piece of clear bubble packaging glued in place with Glue 'n Glaze. the engine nacelles were then glued to the wing and the numerous gaps were filled with model filler, these were then sanded down and the engine annular radiators/nose weights were glued in position.
