D.III 8349/18, Kest 4b September 1918.
I started this back in May and have just got round to finishing it. Not my finest work I have to admit. Used Aviattic Loxenge and the Pheon decal set as Roden decals are famously fragile and difficult to apply. Also, I got the markings completely wrong as I choose a set from the earlier D111 which had a different nose and tail assembly but what's done is done. Had I read the instructions from Pheon correctly I would've been aware that Loot make a conversion set but as I said what's done is done. I've basically created a plane that didn't exist!!
Colours used were Vallejo MA Fire Red and Mediterranean Blue.
EZline was used for the rigging along with Gaspatch turnbuckles.

I've enjoyed following your build of this, Toby and to my eyes that is a superb looking SS D.III. You can trust me to say nowt about your error with the markings, my lips are sealed

Totally agree with Shaun; excellent build throughout and I doubt anyone would have spotted the markings issue had you not mentioned it! 8-)

Well done, Toby. Did you find it difficult to thread the ezline through the turnbubckles? I fount it hard to push the damned stuff through my cut brass rods. Seems to get jammed up at the opening.

I didn’t use the cut brass rods this time. But will next. I’ll more than likely use monofilament as it should be easier to manipulate. Next up is. Dr1. Not much rigging there

I too have followed your build which was very good BTW. Never mind the markings: who would know except the odd anorak, (and you of course). That is a first class model which will grace your display cabinet and be one to be proud of. I would not mind having it in my collection.
