Have you by any chance got the Milicast upgrade pack for that Matador?

I guessing that it is the white metal wheels from Wee Friends?

Shaun, looking to do the gun as well and to try and add some scratch work detail to it to try and ‘beef’ it up a bit!

Chris, I’m using the Matador Models up grade kit and the white metal wheels come from that kit too!

More work today.
First off I did one side of the Centaur's Link and Length tracks  :

Image

Not my favourite pastime, so the other side is for another day.
I then moved on to the Matador and completed the cab and got that attached to the chassis:

ImageImage

The tilt and wheels are still dry fitted at this stage.
Next up I did a little more painting on the Sheridan and also drilled the smoke dischargers:

ImageImage

Next up for this one some markings possibly.
Finally for the day I made up another hatch for the Crusader dozer:

Image

These want cleaning up a little and then I'll add the tracks.
Updates to follow.

Wow, your military vehicle factory is always worth a watch, Steve! Looking at the upgrade parts, I take it that old Airfix Matador has issues in the wheels and cab roof departments. Good bit of micro-drilling on the Sheridan smoke dischargers, well worth the eye strain if you ask me!

Shaun I believe the wheels and tyres are too small and the roof should have the area over the driver covered. This can be achieved by cutting a rectangle of plastic card and covering the area on the kit roof, but it was in the kit so I thought, what the heck, I’ll use it!

Excellent work. The Airfix Sheridan is a bit of a rarity, I don't think I've ever seen it built before.

Today sees the wheels, tilt and new front and rear hooks cemented to the chassis on the Matador:

ImageImage

Then I applied the green, brown for the tilt and then I painted in the tyres:

ImageImage

Next up will be some 'Mickey Mouse' camo on this one.
I then turned to the Centuar, this is how the resin wheels appear from below:

Image

So they need the groove sawing into them to allow the L&L tracks to bed down into the wheels:

Image

Once the groove is deep enough the tracks can be assembled around the wheels and now you know why it takes around 1 to 2 hours to fit these tracks:

Image

Then I assembled the rest of the kit, added some stowage and also added a commander figure from the HAT tank riders I have:

ImageImage

Finally it got a coat of green:

Image

Finally I went back to the Crusader Dozer and completed the new hatches and also coloured them green to see how they look:

ImageImage

A good day and updates will follow.

That old Airfix Matador has come up a treat, Steve, as indeed has that Centaur - it was worth the hassle with the wheels and tracks if you ask me. Top work.

The Matador is a great looking truck. The tanks are very nice too.

The Crusader Dozer now has it's tracks fitted. This was a kit acquired via Ebay and came to me without the tracks so I have fitted some white metal ones from Friendship Models:
Fitted reasonably well with a little filing required where they went round the sprockets and any imperfections will be hidden by the small track guards once they are fitted:

ImageImage

Next will be to paint the tracks before installing the Dozer kit.

It seems you really know how to dance with small scale vehicle's. There is always interesting stuff coming off your bench.

Nice one, Steve, those white metal tracks look good. I always like it when a tank features track guards or side skirts - there's always somewhere to hide the track join then!
