Thank you! but, actually, it doesnt feel like a challenge anymore, it turned into "having fun" by now. The worst part was to free the nose from all its bumps.
I painted the tips of the arrows, and painted over some cracks in the transfers

not difficult, to turn "EP" into "PL"

So this plane becomes a whiff, a PL-02....there was no flying PL-01, anyway, the sources I found say, that it was kept stationary, to teach mechanics,
how to deal with jets.

So I come up with a story, here: the grandfather of a brother of a sister of a cousin of a friend, was a pilot in the CzAF, and once flew an S-92 with the buzz code PL-02, he inherited to me a pic of that plane, it is right here........wait a moment, I show ye.......
..... ........
........
OH NO! - - - my neighbor´s dog just ATE the photo!

Now the only proof, that there was once a silver Avia S-92, coded PL-02, that was once flying around, is forever lost to history

(enuff, with that trash talk, for now ;-) )

Thanks for your support, and for bearing with my eccentric modelling :)

Very convincing backstory, Markus (NOT!). Nice job creating a number for it.

Thank you, David! Now I find it a bit too brash :-| the decal is so large, I could´ve trimmed it down to the way it looked on PL-01, a lot less flashy flash there.
Thanks evrybody for your feedback, it spurs me a lot :)

I´m happy with it, had expected a worse look than that.
I guess one reason: Airfix gives you a too-slim fuselage to start with, the 262´s fuselage is much chunkier, in fact.
So thats why it came out slimmer, more streamlined looking, than in reality.
And with those big bolts, it´s becoming to look like it´s goin to an air race

Very cool! I must remember the 'dog ate the reference photos' excuse for future use 🤣
Best wishes

Thanks all for your comments!
Some last thoughts on those silver Czech 262, with the red bolt on the fuselage:
While browsing the net for more info about this plane, I stumbled across the box Illustration of a Hasegawa 262/Avia S-92 kit:
https://www.super-hobby.co.uk/products/ ... STWAR.html
So, even the painter here, made the mistake to show this PL-01 in flight....
guessing from the signature, at least it was not Shigeo Koike.
(So i´m not the only one, showing it in flight.... )
If anyone reading these lines here, knows the Czech language, and has an idea, what "PL" stands for - please enlighten us!
I´m curious to know that!
I´m guessinng some abbreviation for "stationary airframe", or similar?
All the other S-92 in active service, had a code starting with "V", so?
But, for now, enuff about this peculiar interest of mine -
I made my choice for the upcoming Splash commemoration GB.

When looking in the stash for something suitable for the GB, I found this:
Image
a beaten up Frog box, but at least with some vivid looking boxart, still
Image

contents are there, minus the carb intake - not too bad, got lots of spare parts for Hurris
And I was thinking: it should become a Sea Hurricane, to have some RN connection!

And then I remembered that old magazine Modelaid - didnt the have paper pits for Hurries, once?
Image

Ha! got that issue, with the Hurri pit in it! never tried a fold-up paper thing for a plastic kit yet, so here we go:
Image
looks ok for me, lets see, if the kit´s seat can be put in there:
Image

a little slimming of the seat will be done, then it should work alright

This is going to become a custom made Sea Hurri - a unique model, for a unique geezer ;-)
