I think I may be cursed. No, the model is intact but the decals I planned to use have got the roundels the wrong sizes. Having a rethink.

Re: David's Mbox with Aeroclub fighter nose correction
Right. Plan B: I have printed some roundels the right size but, of course, they have no white ink. Fortunately, in my stash (thank heavens I am a hoarder) I have some blank white disc and square decals by Fantasy Printshop to be used for exactly this - as white under roundels. So, the hope is that if I apply the white roundels first then overlay my homemade ones, all will look passable. You can also see in this pic the oversize roundel I had planned to use from the old (very, very old) SAM Rhodesian Air Force sheet printed in 1982.
If that fails, I have a plan C but it means a different style of roundel that I don't like a as much.

Brilliant save to the tailplane.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Great idea using the white decals as a backing.

Done.
The homemade decals worked really well and today was spent doing final clearcoat, adding the tanks, rockets and under-fuselage antenna then painting the black radome and fin antenna, and the silver round the exhaust
This is the one I am modelling: Hawker Hunter FGA9 RRAF116 (ex XE559) 1 Squadron Royal Rhodesian Air Force c.1968
and here's mine:
A few more pics below. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement.

Turned out very well, no trace of the cut and shut job. Those markings do look good.
