Ah I wish I was - very little bench time at the moment and that blooming C-130 is taking most of it.

Okay, so I'll be honest, I've really fluffed up the painting of the Herc, mainly because I couldn't decide on what scheme to paint, so it's been grey, it's been black, pink... there was probably a bit of purple in there too.

So having decided enough's enough, I've gone back to my original idea of doing the wrap-around Grey/Green scheme. The recovery plan is currently to get all the windows masked, mask up the demarcation lines on the black underside, fit the IFR probe and restore the broken antenna I knocked off last night. Once all that's done I'd like to get an all over coat of DSG just to consolidate it and make it look better than it does now by the end of the week.

I'm also going to have to do something with the small front windows as my clear parts were very poorly moulded and stupidly I decided to fill in
the gaps with PVA glue, BEFORE I needed to paint and mask it... So I'll remove what I've done, get it masked and painted, and then redo the PVA.

I did start adding a coat of DSG over the upper wings, engines and tail just to get rid of the pink last night.



The undersides is a bit of a mess. I'm going to keep the black undersides, and I've masked the black exhaust areas although I need to redo one as I've noticed it's off centre.



Looking forward to getting this nice and tidy, ready for the rest of the paint and decals.

The paint may be a struggle but it does look very impressive, almost as much as your being able to keep your workbench that clear. Nice masking on the black undersides.

Oh for the love of Pete....

I'm telling you this damn thing doesn't want to get built - I was removing the crappy front chin windows so I could replace them with PVA after paint - which came out okay btw - when I caught the edge of the instrument panel, which promptly fell off and into the cockpit



Sufficed to say I've walked away, otherwise I might unleash my inner Calvin.

Yeah, sh!t happens as they say, although I seem to have had more than my fair share over the last few months. I can't believe it's nearly mid March and I haven't completed a build yet.... Ho-hum. 1st world problems.

If it doesn't feel right at the moment, just put it aside and do something relaxing meanwhile (Which is also a great method of building up a massive stash of started kits )

You may be able to pry the canopy off to fish out the IP. But a better idea may be to spend your next session (just the one) working on a fresh project. And then coming back to this In a few days.

That's it exactly Ralph, I'll go in through the windscreen if I can gently cut it out - I'm going to leave it a few days though and finish my Hurricane instead.

That's the plan. I got the U/C painted up last night (just needs a wash and some grubbing up) and I'm currently working on the prop and exhaust.

Thanks Andy. The Herc is now residing at the bottom of the Wheelie bin as I snapped the windscreen trying to get it out... so balls to it!

The Hurricane however is 99.9% finished - just the prop and exhausts to fit along with an antenna wire and some light washes and weathering.
