Trumpeter 1/72 SA6

Post by jssel »

I picked this one up at my LMS about a week ago. Last Sunday my local Band of Pirates had a "build in" gathering. I was surprised that the construction took a mere 5 hours. The road wheels and tracks are pre-molded as single pieces and just snap into place on the hull. Very, very nice. In the next couple of days I painted and weathered it. First time I started the finish with an overall matt black and proceeded to mist on shades of green. Tamiya paints used throughout. The wash was Testors Rubber color 1182. The kit comes with markings for East Germany, Romania, Poland and Czechoslovakia. I chose Poland.

Dinky parts but very easy to work with. Thanks for looking.

Stunning work, that’s now on my list of wants.

I had the pleasure of having a very close look at the real thing at the end of the first gulf war, the bins on the side are full of spare parts including very, very basic electrical circuit boards like the ones you would find in a sixties TV.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Stunning job. Got one that keeps going on and off the bench, hope it turns out half as good.

Amusingly basic, but they work and are very good at surviving.
A well built model.

Looks good.

I grabbed one of these a bit ago but want to do one in either Egyptian or Syrian markings but have not been able to find some aftermarket decals for those. Still looking.

There is a 72 sheet with all Middle East countries on it. Have to check with a club guy for the name.

Great build and had to image its only 1/72 scale.

Also to be honest I much prefer good quality moulded on tracks than link after link that never seem to look right

Very nice Jeff, looks great. I really like the idea of the tracks and roadwheels moulded as one-piece, a few companies seem to have adopted that approach recently.
