Might have an old Frog Spit I/V lurking in the stash. Gonna need to do it quick, though, as I'm planning on moving house soon!

Hi Daz and welcome back.
Looking forward to following your build. And best of luck with the house move.

All the best.

OK, so I've looked out the Frog Spitfire Ia/Va - it's the most logical option.

However, I have two Matchbox Spitfire XVI kits stashed away as well. Would they qualify?

If so, I can leave the Frog Spit for its original intended use - "Daz's Spitfire Challenge".

As it started life as the MKIX kit and was one of the Matchbox originals I would say it certainly would qualify.

All the best

I´m curious about your build, too. I got a MB IX/XVI in the stash, as well - so I can watch now how easy/ difficult it is to make ;-)

...even the XVI, where you have to cut the high-back spine, to exchange it with the low-back one? an easy fit, no big seams to fill?

So long as you cut it carefully, the seam shouldn't be too big, but there will be a little bit of filling to do.

I'll post up a photo of one of mine later.
