On saving grace is that the plastic is quite thick so can take a good bit of sanding
I've seen less filler on a 1970's Ford Cortina...

Is the surface detail raised?

It's going to be as smooth as a baby's bum by the time he's sanded that little lot :ha:

After several sessions of FSR I've come to the conclusion this isn't going to make SMW (probably not next year either  )

Cheers Adam. That thing was a mojo killer but the mojo is back now.

Nanchang Q-5 is done now. Finished as a Q-5A armed with a KB-1 10 Kiloton Hydrogen bomb. Only 12 were built. In the late 60's/ early 70's 75% 0f the Soviet armoured divisions were stationed at the Chinese border. The job of the Q-5A was to fly in at low level, pop up to medium level and 'lob' the bomb at the advancing tanks. Because of their limited range, these aircraft were nicknamed "the one-way train".

Mig-31 and Su-24 just need touching up and it's on to decaling. Kit decals for the Su-24 and Begemot decals for the Mig-31

By 'eck that Q-5 has turned out well, Kit and the MiG and Sukhoi don't look too shabby either! That's an interesting little factoid about the nuke lobbing, tank busting ( ), tactics for the Q-5 as well.

Wow Kit your making real progress mate nice work!
I read that the Q-5 it a highly upgraded and modified MiG-19 and looking at the overall shape and the engine configuration you can certainly see were she came from!

Thanks guys, sorry for the lack of updates but bench time has been sparse and now I find myself with 48 hours left. Anyway both ready for matting down now.

And the most time consuming bit almost sorted.

One big gripe about the Trumpeter MiG-31. I had to rob a Condor kit for the rear main u/c doors. Really?? did QC fall asleep for the whole test shot process? Nothing on the sprues, parts map or instructions, just totally missed.

Looking good, Kit but it sounds like a bit of a blitz is required to finish 'em for Telford! Those missing u/c doors are an annoyance. To date I've never built anything by Trumpeter, although they have brought out kits of subjects that interest me in various scales, but it has to be said that over the years they seem to have attracted their fair share of flak over various issues.
