Great work, Alan, I always find with this sort of build once the initial coat of paint goes on and everything looks the same colour, instead of a multi-coloured mix of kit, plastic card and whatever else has been added, then one can really assess for the first time how successful, or not, the additional detail work has been.

The model was almost finished or so it appeared, looking at the detail pictures there seemed to be a shedload of tiny details yet to be installed. I painted the tracks next, starting by taking the shine off both surfaces with a wire brush,they were then primed in a wash of Revell enamel Beige 314 which was followed by three airbrushed coats of Revell Aqua Alluminium 99. Next I trimmed the ends off the tracks so that they could be inserted from the ends, I began by cyanoing the tracks around the rear drive sprockets and then attached them in the same way to the wheels finishing the job by glueing them round the idlers. The Stridsvagn had footholds in the bazooka plates, a feature which is not fitted to the British Centurion, to represent these I made up a batch of decals and applied the required number to the model.


This view of the finished model shows some of the additions needed to make the Bovingdon '104' Whenever I thought I had finished I seemed to spot another missing part, this is one of those models that eventually reaches the point whereby you just have to say to yourself- 'STOP'.

It quite evident from the finished model that a great amount of work has gone into this significant conversion. Along with the excellent paint work it is a feast for the eyes.

Brilliant are you building the gantry with it?

Yes I am Alan, but I haven't decided how I want to mount the turret yet- attached to the tank on a clear post or hanging from the gantry.
