Demon girl *finished*

From Apollo and Soyuz, to Gerry Anderson, Irwin Allen, Star Wars and Trek to Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica and those strange, doe-eyed Japanese school girls...to any model kits you can think of, that only exists in imagination.

I painted the shinies with Citadel's "Gehenna Gold", because that seemed like the only place for a discerning demon girl to go shopping :-D And because it is a rather reddish gold, which also seemed appropriate.

This is where the project will appear to come to a complete halt for a bit. I'll let things cure properly, hit it with varnish next weekend, and only start working on the tree stump the week after that. Patience guys, patience..

A good effect for gold, especially for Citadel's is Agrax Earthshade (also Citadel), it can produce a darker effect but can take the over the top shine that can come with gold.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

I'll try to remember, but I'm not overly concerned with glossiness at this point. Once complete, there will be a coat of varnish, and that typically flattens everything out. If anything, I'm more concerned with getting just the right sheen on the various parts; completely flat skin and hair look horrible, but it's very easy to get those too glossy. In this case, the horns present an additional complication as well. Several types of topcoat will be needed here, I think, probably something along the lines of Citadel Purity Seal over everything, followed by Humbrol Satin Coat (just a bit off flat) over the skin, and Sylvacryl Satin on the horns (and perhaps eyes and lips) and dry brushed over the hair.

Well, not that much patience :-D

I've painted the tree stump, and aside from some selective varnishing, the figure is done.

Note that the gold didn't really fare too well with the varnish, which is particularly disappointing since they're both from the same brand. I may decide to re-paint the gold bits

While I'm quite certain playing around with varnishes will be visible in direct observation, I'm not so sure it will show up in the inevitable pictures later on.

Spent some time playing around with varnishes. Just a bit of gleam on the skin (and the red mushrooms), a bit more on the horns and hair, and a lot more on the gold and stockings. I'm calling this done.

Thanks for all the kind remarks along the way :)
