That's brave, tackling those two at the same time!
Best wishes

The Spit IX has taken a lot longer than I'd hoped, because I've been committed to building other stuff as well. Mainly other review kits and GBs. Both have to be completed shortly, but the Kotare currently has a shorter deadline.

They'll go on display in the house - we have some plant shelves around the top of the walls of our living room. They aren't that visible, but it keeps them out of the way! We are also exploring more display cabinet options for me. IKEA might find us paying a visit....!Softscience wrote: ↑February 26th, 2024, 5:54 pm What happens to giant models like this, once you finish them?

Once you have completed the review and can show progress, I will be keen to discover your thoughts on the 1/24 spit, as mine is sitting unloved in the box, as it takes up less space that way!
Ikea have some excellent display cabinets nowadays (over here anyway) 12 years ago I did the Billy carcass, and added glass shelves and glass doors with wooden (Ikea wood effect stuff) framing, to them to create something that has survived 2 house moves and still stands up well for displaying models, but there are other options I would go for if starting over again.

I've been looking at the IKEA Milsbo - it come sin both vertical and horizontal units, and you can buy more shelves via Etsy. I am supposed to be moving to a new office in the summer, so I'm waiting for that to see if there's space there for one.

Just got the Kotare 1/32 Spitfire I (early) finished this evening - here's a couple of quick shots:
This is a review kit, so I can't say anything more about it at this point, but I'll link to the review - with better photos - when it is published.
