Re: Classic Brit Spit Kit S-B
I start by thinning out the thick walls of the rads, they are more than a mm thick
it helps a lot, that I build another example of this kit just half a year ago, I know what expects me
this plastic is very much the same like in the green exemple, only in black this time,
fit is very much the same, now without any sink marks this time (the green one had one on the spinner).
I´m relieved that I didnt get any badly molded Frogspawn inside the cardboard wrapper, this is original Frog.

Waiting for the day, when wars for territory will be something to be read about in history books only.

Re: Classic Brit Spit Kit S-B
...not only is the wing too thick from the cannons outward, but the transition between wing underside and fuselage is way too thick, simplest solution is to cut off the carburettor (which looks ugly, anyway), to make it easier to make the wing fair into the fuselage. I´ll chop up the carb to make it smaller and look better, I want to make the type that was used by Skalski´s circus Spitties, I have some decals for ZX-6 - so there will be finally one in MTO camo in my collection :-)
(taking pics of black plastic is really difficult...)

The wing and fuselage are shown ready to be joined together.
Almost finished, this kit is easily tweaked to be displayed alongside more modern kits.

Thanks stuart, this is still my preferred Mk.5 kit and as long as I can obtain them I will keep some of these (along with companion Mk. 1 kits) in the stash

Re: Classic Brit Spit Kit S-B
small update:
got a bit impatient when working on the wing...but it´s styrene, anyway (soo easy to mend this with glue)
Frog/Remus gives you inserts for the radiator mesh - well, they give you only one for each.
But now I have 2 for each, have two leftovers from the Frog I built last year, where I used something else.

Re: Classic Brit Spit Kit S-B
I wonder if this SB is still going? I´m thinking about putting my Remus Spitfire into my WB thread.
Main reason: I´m not sure if I can finish the build this year, and to keep the SB open for just one build, is not necessary, IMO.

Probably time to shut it down, it's been over a year.
