The Finishing Touch: The How's and Why's of Painting Models

Post by CementNotGlue »

Third Edition 2008 updated. A5, 76 pages

I'm not sure where one can obtain this. I purchased mine in a proper book shop. Remember those?

This book has the railway modeller in mind. In deed the references to Phoenix Precision Paints suggest a commision from someone, though author Bob Shepherd is the publisher also.

This is quite a comprehensive overview so brush painting as well as spraying with aerosols, lining pen and the chemistry of paint and why some modellers spoil their finishes.

Yes it's valuable resource and worth the £3.00 I paid the bookshop propriator. There is no RRP

I recommend this to all modellers regardless of painting competence. Though beginners airbrushing, be warned. he destinguishes between ink and paint and apprpiate airbrush for each ne'er the twain shall meet!

For me the advice to use slow-drying thinners for varnishers though what, where and ratio remain unanswered.

No mention of silver inter-war biplane finishes.

You got a good deal there. Haven't found it for less than £6 with P&P to add to that.
