More progress on the fighters today.

The P-38 has had the decals applied and the superchargers fitted. The canopy frame took some painting but it looks OK.

Image

The Stars and Bars were out of register so I had to paint over some white bits.

The 109 has also had the decals applied and the prop and undercarriage fitted.

Image

The canopy is dry fitted at the moment as I'm still painting the pilot, should be finished in the next couple of days though.

As should the P-51D, which has had the drop tanks, exhausts and landing gear doors fitted.

Image

It just needs some detail painting to finish it off.

I should have another update tomorrow, and maybe a completion or two.

Blimey, has it really been that long since I posted here.

Anyway, as I have unfinished group build subjects to get finished I thought I'd revive my workbench thread and finish them here. First up is the Fw189 I started for the Focke Wulf GB. This is how it was at close of play.

Image

After looking at some reference photos I moved the pilot's seat over to the side as the kit has it mounted centrally. The crew have been painted and fitted to the cockpit interior.

Next on the agenda will be assembling the crew nacelle.

They appear to be waiting patiently for you to build their plane around them

The Blitzbau appears to have revived my mojo so I've been doing some more work on the Fw 189. The crew nacelle has been assembled and fitted (minus glass). The main undercarriage and engines are on too. :)

Next up is my favourite part, filling and sanding.

Great stuff! Is the P-38 the Matchbox 'Pudgy'?
