Kev's Minicraft Titanic - 1/350 Centenary Edition

If it goes on or under the wet stuff and doesn't fly, it's in here.

Thx iggie but I don't use ebay after a falling out some years back...matter of principle that I just can't get round
I stared a century thinking this will never change
As I hesitated, time rushed onwards without me
Too scared to break the spell, too small to take a fall
But the absolute luck is, love is in our hearts!

No worries Kev ๐Ÿ‘
If you can't find an alternative supplier, I'd be happy to purchase it on your behalf and send it on to you :)
Best wishes

Excellent ๐Ÿ‘
If it works on your 1/350 kit, I might give it a go on my 1/200 version :-D

Is that underway or a future project?

Well hopefully I'll see it in progress one day
My plan once I've finished this one is to start all over again but as the two wrecked sections

This was taken last night just the basic Hull illumination still needs to be light fast but that's no priority because the decks aren't even fixed in place. The glass table makes for fantastic reflections...that wasn't planned just a happy accident as Bob Ross always said ๐Ÿ˜€

Yeh I agree with you so I'm currently thinking of ways to use glass as a base for its display case once she's finished purely for when it's lit up of an evening.
Not a waterline model so there'll be no ocean representation to worry about

It's just a simple single strip of leds. I'll be extending up thru various decks for internal lighting and using 0.25mm fibre optics for external lighting and various size fibre optic rods as porthole glass which will be polished smooth on each end. I'm also considering side emitting f.o. cable for illuminating the underside of external walkways. All of which needs to be done before I can fix the decks...hope its worth the effort

I found this and to me it seems like the simplest and most straight forward method of achieving a reasonable painted deck. My only concern is that the panel lines between planks on this model are raised not recessed...what do you think?

https://youtu.be/Ku0AOE4N8vQ8

This is my 2nd option of choice except it looks like he's working on 1/200. I think it's just too fiddly to be done at 1/350 where plank widths are approx 1mm and that is massively out of scale, if my maths is correct that translates to about 18 inches width and I reckon real planks would be a third of that. Anyway here's the 2nd option

Gonna go with option 1 and have given decked areas a white base. Also the fibre optics for portholes have arrived :)
