Hawker Engineering 100th Anniversary GB?
Following on from Greg's timely posting regarding this year being the 100th anniversary of the formation of Hawker Engineering, and my suggestion of a Hawker themed GB, how about a GB featuring any Hawker aircraft (or any other vehicle if you can substantiate it's Hawker origins) from their start up until they were subsumed into the Hawker Siddeley Group (suggested by JRatz to be after the P. 1127 but before the Kestrel or Harrier)

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

I am in. Was considering a Harrier T2 but as this is a no am having a re-think. Maybe a Hunter, Hurricane or one of the biplanes.

Re: Hawker Engineering 100th Anniversary GB?
No worries Fred; it took me a while to edit out the links to sub-types and operators of some aircraft so there may well be omissions! I'm still looking for a picture of the Hawker Hedgehogfredk wrote:Whilst checking up that list * I noticed that de Havilland is also 100 years old

If de Havilland are 100 this year too, then should we widen the GB to a centenarian GB, or have a separate one for de Havilland?
Best wishes

A separate DH one but we had a DH one a few years back. Has the gap been long enough?

Whilst I would prefer separate GBs, as the calendar is rather full a joint one would probably fit in better. Maybe a 6 to 8 week GB?
October - November 2015. So I think the gap is okGregers wrote:A separate DH one but we had a DH one a few years back. Has the gap been long enough?

Re: Hawker Engineering 100th Anniversary GB?
Cheers for the link Fred Not the best looking beastie!
OK, let's sort out the joint/separate GB issue first:
Can anyone interested in commemorating either or both anniversaries please say so, and also give their preferences regarding a joint/separate GB.
Once we get an idea of likely participation and format we can go into some more detail as regards dates etc. etc.

Re: Hawker Engineering 100th Anniversary GB?
I'd like to have both
I'd like them to be separate but needs dictate that a joint venture has more chance of being allocated space in this year's calendar
