Special Hobby Gloster Meteor NF Mk.12 1/72

Post by shangos70 »

At the request of Kitaholic here are a few quick shots of the new Meteor NF Mk.12 by Special Hobby. First impressions are good, lots of detail in the cockpit tub and wheel wells. There are also a few locating pins on the fuselage to help with fit which I hadn't seen on some of their other releases. The decals look to be nicely printed although I have seen on other sites that the Sqn bars for the 25 sqn machine may be the wrong colour. I think there are some on an old Modeldecal sheet to compare them with. The instructions also show that some material needs to be removed from the wing center section so that it fits correctly into the fuselage recess.
Overall it looks to be a great package with clean mouldings , one downside is the closed canopy but there is already an aftermarket one out there from the same chap who does the Airfix Phantom upgrades. I think there is also a canopy mask available too.

Thanks Shane, nice looking kit. Bit of surgery but nothing too bad. Are the main wheels moulded as two halves? If so that's going to be an awkward seam to clean up. See they thought about where to put the ejector pins
