Got something to say about the hobby of model making?

So today I picked up a rather nice Sparmax TC-610H compressor, and a Voilamart portable spray-booth.

I have to say I'm rather pleased - I'm not sure when the hell I'm going to be able to start using it, but I'm looking forward to it.

Cheers!

Looks interesting, at least get it all out for a test drive :)

My set-up is pretty much handbuilt in a utility room down stairs - there was no place in my model room to put it and that probably accounts for my decreasing use of it.

Hi Andrew
I had a go with AK Real Colour on a couple of models and I really like it. As I presume you are aware it’s base is surgical spirit, and it can make it a bit difficult to hand brush, but I have got around it by putting an acrylic varnish over the first coat. The attraction is spraying the second coat it become almost self levelling.
I have experimented over the last few years with different paints and I still find a role for hand painted enamel. I tend to have problems with my air brush spraying enamel paint. I never seem to get it clean enough.
Kind regards
Paul

I have a Sparmax too - very happy with it

These ferry tanks arrived today, generously sent by Iggie toward my next 1/24 Harrier build

I'm trying some AK Acrylics for my Skyraider build. The Vallejo Tansparent Blue is for the rear canopy tint.

The Vallejo sand primer is for top coats of yellow, orange, or red. It gives great results.

I have some of the AK 3g acrylics, but haven’t tried them yet so will be interested in your results.

I used the USN set for the Skyraider, and it turned out well. They brush nicely straight from the bottle, and spray well once thinned.
