Here's where the general chat and organization of Group/Shared Builds takes place, with Guidelines, the GB/SB Calendar, and an Index to completed GBs.

GB Extensions will revert to normal rules

Post by JohnRatzenberger »

For the time being, we'll assume no one needs the stress of a GB deadline.

All GB's will be assumed to continue until the GBL tells us they are done.

Scheduled GBs ones will be started unless the GBL indicates otherwise; players can join as able.

This could mean more active builds; it is hoped that members check them out and provide commentary and generally stay active.

We will have to ask all participants and observers to observe the "social distancing" required by their home country. :)

Good thinking John, and especially with regard to the encouragement from other GB participants and from 'the sidelines' for those involved in each active GB; I think it would be fair to say that now more than ever is the time for all forum members to chip in with comments and motivation 8-)
Best wishes

I agree with Jim, this is good thinking and hopefully our GB's will give members a distraction from the more unpleasant side of life that we are currently experiencing!

Excellent idea. I know the superb contributions from the folks in my Tank Killers GB are raising my morale at this time.

Is there any chance that the rule about started kits in GBs could be relaxed for the duration?
I had ordered a couple of kits from my LMS for the Milestone / Anniversary GB but they didn't arrive before the sudden lockdown.I Have an Esci F16 that I had gotten halfway through before giving up as a bad lot a few years ago. It'll need a bit of work to undo a lot of the progress and start afresh.

GB leaders already have the powers to allow one or two part started kits in a GB. I'm sure the GBL would look favourably on your part-started kit

Can I join a GB even though its 'official' end date is past?

Yes, but the entry fee is doubled to cover my effort :)

Sounds reasonable.
I can pay in 'pieces of eight', dubloons, groats, or Chicago Transit Authority tokens.

I am going to leave the GB Extensions in place, but note that some GBL's have requested closure on older ones where the purpose has been achieved or activity seems to have trickled away. This seems like a good idea and I will be looking at shortening the "open" list. I do appreciate the UAMF member response to all this, even if I have done little to help the completion rate.

Sounds fair, as some GB's get older(!), that seems fair to close them. A heads up as to when this would happen per GB would be welcome!!.
