Great choice for your next build, Syd, the Skyline GTR is a beast of a car.

Re: Tamiya 1/24 Nissan Skyline GTR
thanks Shaun i have made a start painted and built the chassis i have some cloth for the seats which i am trying i have put some on one of the front seats and covered the joins with some tubing to look like piping but i think it is a little to thick i will cover the other seats with the cloth
i have some piping somewhere it is finding it at the moment so i don`t yet know if i will leave the tubing on and do the other seat the same or look for the piping
the seat with the tubing i am undecided at the moment as to leave as is

You're off to a great start, Syd. I think the seat looks very promising.

Chassis is looking great.
The seat covering is very well done, I have used thin wire for the piping before now.

Re: Tamiya 1/24 Nissan Skyline GTR
Moving along soundly, Syd. We had work done on the house last year, which meant I had to pack up the modelling room for a while and I was amazed at how much stuff (some unkind souls would say crap) that I had amassed, quite a bit of which hadn't seen the light of day in years - I adhere strictly to the old modelling adage: never throw anything away

Re: Tamiya 1/24 Nissan Skyline GTR
thanks Shaun (glad i am not the only one who dont throw anything away) i have now finished the GTR the fit was up to Tamiya`s usual standard i rushed the finish a little in the end because i wanted to go straight to my next build so having got the spare room back so i rushed it and spoilt the paint work a little and also mucked the windows up

It's good to see this one done, Syd, although I can tell you're not altogether happy with it. I've been there myself, rushing off the finish to get onto something else and then wishing I'd taken my time a bit more.

A good job Syd, guilty myself of rushing the last bits.

Re: Tamiya 1/24 Nissan Skyline GTR
thanks guys what i used on the seats was from model factory Hiro it is adhesive cloth for seats and it comes in various colours you can also get leather look it is slightly stretchy so if you cut it a little short you can stretch it to fit
