Prototypes, experimentals, one offs **Complete & Archived**

Post by DavidWomby »

A recent thread on the Gloster E.28/39 prompted this thought but it needn't be limited to aircraft.

If 'one offs' is too restrictive it could be 'less than X built'.

Interesting idea, and one-offs is certainly not too restrictive as there are so many potential choices. After all, most types had at least one prototype. Though it might be one of those GBs where the builder has to provide the justification for inclusion if there's any questions as to suitability.

Ooooh, I vowed to restrict the amount of GB's I sign up for but.....
Damnit, can't resist this one.
Possibly the Hasegawa F20 Tigershark, or maybe a Spitfire floatplane. But I have plenty of possibilities for this one.

We had a Prototype & Test Bed GB in 2006 and the "What Might Have Been" GB in 2018, which did include non-a/c. In both cases the subjects were real and not paper. Can be fun.

I have pretty much every British prototype from the 50s FD1, FD2, T188, SB5, P1, P111, etc., etc., etc. I will have trouble picking one!

If we get enough participants, I expect this might be a 2021 GB.

I've got one or two of the types mentioned, might be interesting, especially if we can get as many different types as possible, but don't want to be restricting anyone! My list would be from....
X-29
F-20
YF-23... oh damn building that now
Fairey FD.1
Fairey FD.2

I do have smaller 144th kits from Anigrand kits. I have Hawker Sea Hawks sitting waiting for conversion to P.1052's and the like. Will have to see what I need to do before going with that for the GB if it goes ahead.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

I’d be up for this - I have NKC-135 project that would possibly fit the bill.

I hope it goes ahead too
I'd prefer it to be confined to anything which actually got built, even in mock-up form

Anybody want to poll to get a participant count and dates? I can do it but not until October.

I'm in as I have plenty to choose from. Should be actual metal (or wood and linen) that flew/drove/floated though.

I was just thinking of this one the other day, I would be up for this, I have one or two candidates. At the moment any time will do, although a month or so to finish what I've got on would be good too!!.
