Tamiya 1/12 Honda fireblade
this is one of Tamiya`s new kits it is the new fireblade from Honda i have had this kit a couple of weeks now and i could not hold from starting it any longer so my previous build has gone on hold for a while the parts look very good with great detail as we expect from Tamiya this kit will be built straight out of the box with very little or no extra detailing

Great choice, Syd and I take it this is the latest version of this iconic motorcycle? A mate had one of the original 900cc models back in the 90's.

Look forward to the build. Have thought a few times of getting the kit but held of so far. No doubt it will be added to the stash in the future. Had the CBR600 and also ridden the older fireblade.

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Honda fireblade
thanks guys i have never ridden a fireblade but the people i have spoke to who has ridden them say they are great bikes to ride and they race them in the British super bike series highly supped up, i have got the engine painted and built no extra detail just as it came from the box getting on with the frame now should have that done tomorrow hopefully then on to the swing arm

Nicely done, Syd, the engine looks good enough to me detail wise straight from the box and certainly when considering it will mostly be hidden by the fairing.

The golds on the forks look particularly good.

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Honda fireblade
thanks guys James i wish i could say i painted the gold on the front forks but they are the front fork set that Tamiya has produced for this kit and they look so much better than i could have done with just painting the kit parts, the exhaust are the kit parts, i have now finished the model i made a few mistakes about half way through the build which put me off so did not do anything for about 6 months but hopefully i am getting back into it now the kit itself is very good (it was not the kits fault i messed up) the kit went together well with nice detail and crisp mouldings it is not the best one i have done but it will pass the only other extra detail i put on was the nuts for the wheels
