OK, now I know.
Some many moons ago I bought several started figures and Schwimmwagen, two BMW, a Gulaschkanone and several other stuff in 1/35. It is partly build and some is primed but ... I'll most prob. will get rid of that thick primer.

I will not use all of this, but out of this I'll do a dio. The starting idea is: several different Geram groups meet at a point to get something to eat and have a break. Location will be somewhere in Russia in Autumn. We'll see where this will develop to.

first of all I started to convert two figures to have a cook and his assistence. It just won't work without them. The skirts are made from Magic Sculp.

For those wondering, I almost always prime my stuff in black. As primer I use Createx Auto Air Black base. which is a leftover from some airbrush work I did in the past.

you are right and that's what will happen, well most prob.

OK, so, @Jissel, you asked for any ideas about figures, well here is what I use for skin:

the outer left bottle, where you can read "Wash", this is my self mixed skin wash. It is a yellowish-redish-brown which I mixed from left over ink printer inks with some acrylic clear. The other 6 bottles are the Lifecolor Flesh Tone set (https://www.snmstuff.co.uk/product/life ... -22ml-x-6/) decanted into dropper bottles.

My approach follows more or less these steps:
1.The 1.base over all, 2 or three coats
2. One coat of the self mixed flesh wash
3. The 1, light is made with 1. base again, as this is now lighter because of the wash
4. then depending on the depth of the wrinkles toning down the shadow areas with Lifecolor 1. shadow or with 2. shadow
5. and from there mixing the used shadow color with the 1. base back to some extend, to get a good transition
6 getting the lights is mixing the 1. light into the 1. base step by step until it is enough

And for the eyes, well in most cases it is just a dark grey wash or a dot of very dilited dark grey. But this depends on the figure or bette the sculting of the face. If there are eyeball sculpted then you can try to paint them, but never use white, use i.e. the 1. light of this set above and a dark grey dot for the pupile.

I for me would never use pure white or black on a figure, as then there is no room for more light or shadow.

Well and with all the rest it is quite the same: 1 middle color, one color for shadows and one for highlights, that's it
